Would like to announce the arrival of their new born calf Camomile
|
 |
Camomile pictured here with her mother
was
born just before 7am
on Wednesday the 22 August 2007
|
Camomile was born to Clover one of our Normande cows
this is Clover’s second calf but this time one thing makes this
birth a very special occasion for us Camomile is a pure
Normande Calf. We have managed the birth on this occasion
with artificial insemination due to the lack of Normande bulls in
our area.

 |
 |
Camomile is the fourth calf we have had born here at
Le Bois de Grammont but the first Pure breed and
as the name implies Camomile is a girl and has been breed
here to increase our heard and will probably stay with us
for the whole of here life.
|
Pictured Above Clover is replenishing her strength by eating
her after birth, it is also thought this is done to discourage predators from approaching and putting the newborn calf at risk
Pictured right Camomile enjoying a dry bed for the evening
in our cow shed, it has rained all day and we felt
a little sorry for her.
